Bharat Education Trust, Bardoli is contributing to the field of education since 1973. In the beginning trust established a primary school and then extended its services up to Secondary and Higher Secondary school of both Gujarati and English medium. After perfect planning of the school education, trust extended its services to the higher education. Trust started the efforts to establish B. Ed. College & at the end of the sincere effort trust could start the B. Ed college affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. Since 5th December 2002, B. J. Patel College of Education, Bardoli prepare teachers for the secondary level.
College has applied for Accreditation and Assessment to NAAC, Bangalore in the year 2008-2009. In response to this, NAAC peer team visited the college on 8,9 & 10 October, 2009. After the inspection of the college by NAAC peer team members, the college was accredited 'B' grade (CGPA - 2.41) by NAAC, Bangalore. Our college was the first to obtain NAAC accreditation among the self financed B.Ed. colleges of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University.
Special Events (State level conference of
AIAER)
A state level conference of AIAER was arranged on 5th February, 2006. The theme of the conference was “Innovative Practices in classroom Instruction”. More than 100 delegates attended the conference and 80 papers were presented in the conference on different themes. Dr. Rameshchandra Kothari, Vice Chancellor of the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat inaugurated the conference. Dr. Shashikant Shah, Professor and Head, Department of Education, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat delivered a valedictory lecture. Learning legend and President of all India Association for Educational research, Dr. B. K. Passi remained present in the conference. Dr. Passi gave the idea of dialogue method and all the papers in the conference were presented through dialogue method.
In the academic year 2007-08 we had arranged 'Best Unit Lesson Plan competition' in which most of the B.Ed. colleges of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat participated. Best unit lesson plan in each method was selected. Winners were given the prizes and certificates by the college. In the same year, one C.D. of prayers was prepared by the lecturers and teacher trainees of the college.
In the academic year 2008-09, college has arranged 'Book Exhibition' for the surrounding schools and college.
(State Level Seminar on Action Research)
In the year 2008-09, a state level Seminar was organized on 21st February, 2009. The topic of the seminar was Action Research. The seminar was organized for B.Ed. trainees of Gujarat State. Total 175 trainees from all over Gujarat State participated in the seminar. Dr. Anil Ambasana, Associate Professor of Saurashtra University, Rajkot was inivited as expert for seminar. The seminar was conducted in three sessions. Dr. Ghanshyam Raval, Syndicate Member of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat inaugurated the seminar. The same day is also celebrated as International Mother Tongue Day and Dr. Rawal delivered lecture on International Mother Tongue Day.
