Different Special Activities of Library

1. Display of Books
Library is used as important medium for knowledge extension. There are different types of reading materials available in the library. In this age of knowledge explosion, it is a problem for trainees what to read and what not. To help them, near the entrance of the library one Black board has been placed on which the name of the book along with its author has been written which is changed everyday.

The students read this and gets inspired to read the book. In this way, all the books are introduced to the trainees and they can use it when ever required.

2. Best Article of the week
We are running this project in our college since last six years. In this project, we select best two articles from news papers or magazines and display it on a specially prepared board. B. Ed. trainees  read it and get it zeroxed. We request them to take it to the home and let their parents read it out and discuss it.

3. Book Review
Every Saturday after the prayer in assembly room one trainee have to present the review of the book read by him during the week. He has to present all the information about the book like the name of the book, name of the author, publisher, its cost, its edition and the information regarding the content of that book. The aim of this is that all the students come to know about that book and is inspired to read it. This is a very good activity.

4. Display Board for New Books
Every year, New book are purchased according to the necessity of the student. At the entrance at library one display board is kept for the display of new books. Through this, the students come to know about this.

5. Exhibition of books
Exhibition of useful books is arranged every year by  the college. From that students come to know regarding the books which is not read by him. Exhibition of books is arranged on world book day, during library week, during the celebration of various days etc. Students and teachers of surrounding schools visit these exhibition.

6. Mutual Co-operation among different libraries
In this world of knowledge explosion, it is not possible to purchase all the subject related books. In such cases, the required information is sought through the library of arts, commerce and science college and through the Taluka Panchayat library.

7. Book-Bank plan
All the teacher trainees are given the books of all the compulsory subjects, teaching method and content of their method. They can keep it for the whole year.

8. News Critics
Important news of the week are being read in the assembly and the criticism regarding it is done.

9. Discussion on My Favourite Book

We have started this project in the year 2007-08. Every month, three candidates will discuss regarding their favourite books.

10. Best Reader Award

This award is presented to the teacher trainees who has read more books during the year. In addition to this their attitude, discipline, their contribution in different projects etc. is taken into consideration.
